Osborne, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, has lived in New York for more than 20 years and the album is definitely place-specific, born of a renewed gratitude for its offerings post-9-11, and inspired by poets Walt Whitman and Allen Ginsberg, who often referenced the city as a place of soul.
